Sofapaka partly settle players salaries

23 June 2014, 16:41

Nairobi - KPL club Sofapaka has partly settled the salaries and allowances of their players, the club has announced.

The club has been in dire straits financially and has failed to clear outstanding salaries and allowances owed to players for an accrued three months.

Club chair Elly Kalekwa though, announced that the club has partly settled the arrears and expects the rest to be paid off in the coming weeks.

" We have paid a good part of the arrears and we hopefully have relieved the players of stress, he told News24.

" The rest we will clear in two weeks time and hopefully then, the players will be back to normal, as is business at the club, he added.

Sofapaka are fourth in the Kenyan Premier League.
