Nairobi - Kenyan Premier League title-chasers Sofapaka have requested to change
from their current home ground and move to the Embu Stadium next season.
This will be second time that Batoto ba Mungu will be switching home
bases in less than a year, after changing to the Kenyatta Stadium in
Machakos from the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi last year.
County Youth Empowerment and Sports Chief Officer Raymond Kinyua has
confirmed that they have met with the club's management and Football
Kenya Federation officials to discuss the prospective move.
"We have held talks with top brass of Sofapaka and FKL (Football Kenya League)," Kinyua told Daily Nations Sport.
"They have engaged the Sports department on the probability of Sofapaka relocating to Embu Stadium in the season 2015.
"They are really complaining of the fan base. They told us that they have not been able to attract fans in Machakos."

added: "They have already invited us to watch their match against Gor
Mahia on October 26th. We are trying to create a rapport and connections
with Sofapaka. It will be our joy if we can put it through.
ball is in our court which is to complete the stadium. We hope to have
them here. In principle, we agreed on how to complete the stadium and
boost security apparatus.
"There is light at the end of the
tunnel. At the end of the day, that stadium must be completed. Most of
the work is done and we will just be putting final touches."
Sofapaka face Gor Mahia in a top-of-the-table clash, that could determine the destination of the 2014 league championship.
