Shikokoti: Leopards a work in progress

08 January 2014, 14:28

Nairobi - AFC Leopards' new signings will take time to settle in at the club, defender Joseph Shikokoti has said.

Shikokoti is among a number of new faces at the club, with the likes of James Situma, Mussa Mudde, Jacob Keli among others joining up in the current off-season.

Results in the Mapinduzi Cup in Zanzibar over the last few weeks have not been good, with losses in two of their three matches thus an early exit from the competition.

Shikokoti is not discouraged by the results the team posted in Zanzibar and says that the club will rise up if given some time.

" It is too early in the day to be worried. There are far too many things that need to be considered.

" First, there are very many new players in the team and also, the coach is still new so needs time to be able to build the side.

" Personally, I think that the club has invested well and there are some very good players who are in this team. As long as we are given time to gel, I'm confident we will do well, he added.

Leopards will take part in the CAF Confederations Cup this season, with the Kenyan Premier League also high on their agenda.
