Nairobi - KCB coach Rishadi Shedu sees no reason why they cannot secure
their Kenyan Premier League status this season, despite the side sitting rock
bottom of the standings.
Things have not gone according to plan for the Bankers this term,
having managed just a single victory from their opening 16 KPL matches to sit
eight points from safety with just over half the season already played.
Shedu, though, appears to have the utmost confidence in turning
their disastrous form around in time to avoid relegation from the Kenyan top
"Our target is to play in KPL next season and that’s exactly
what we are working on. It’s not yet over and I believe we still have a great
chance to avoid relegation," said Shedu.
KCB are next in action against Thika United on Saturday, and will
need a big response from their previous performance when they went down 3-0
"We are not the first team to be in such a situation, but we
have a couple of matches that we must get good results," the coach
"If we get maximum points in our next three matches starting
with Thika on Saturday, then we will revive our survival chances, but if we
fail it will be difficult for us. The boys need to be at their best this
