Security guaranteed for CAF double header

07 February 2014, 16:31

Nairobi - Security, an issue in the Kenyan football scene, has been guaranteed for the weekend CAF clashes pitting Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.

This was revealed at a joint meeting between Gor, Leopards and the Football Kenya Federation.

" Security will be tight and we will deploy as many methods of crowd control as we can, Federation president Sam Nyamweya said.

" We have worked hard to ensure that incidences of insecurity are not seen at all and we are confident it will pan out, he added.

Ambrose Rachier, the Gor Mahia chairman and his Leopards counterpart Allan Kasavuli said that the two clubs will sensitize the need for peace to their fans.

" We have already started speaking to them and urging them to be calm and to accept whatever result comes up, Rachier said.

Gor face Gabon's US Bitam Saturday in the CAF Champions League, while Leopards take on Ethiopia's Defence the following day in the CAF Confederations Cup.
