SSMB detail stadium damage

15 August 2013, 08:38

Nairobi - Gor Mahia was earlier served with a ban from using Sports Stadia Management Board (SSMB) facilities namely, Nyayo Stadium and the Moi International Sports Centre (MISC), Kasarani due to property damaged on 4 August when the team played Nairobi City Stars.

With the ban came a bill of KES 2.8 million for damages, which triggered claims that SSMB are taking advantage of the Kenyan Premier League giants. The SSMB board subsequently released a break-down of the costs.

According to the statement, in the melee, 583 plastic fixed seats were damaged and one seat goes at KES 3 500 which brings a cost of purchasing them at KES 2 040 500.
