Ronaldo scores twice as Real Madrid win at Getafe

Madrid - World player Cristiano Ronaldo banged in two goals as Spanish leaders Real Madrid won 3-0 at lowly Getafe on Sunday.
On a chilly morning in Madrid's southern suburbs, Getafe managed to hold out for just over an hour, thanks to some sharp saves from keeper Jordi Codina - and thanks to a left-foot drive from Toni Kroos hitting the crossbar.
In the 63rd minute, though, Karim Benzema skipped through the Getafe defence and centred from Ronaldo to make it 1-0 from close range. Four minutes later, Gareth Bale made it 2-0 by cleverly turning in a centre from James Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was again the provider 11 minutes from time, when he crossed for Ronaldo to head in his second goal. The 2014 Ballon d'Or winner is top of the Liga scorers' chart with 28 goals, a new record at this stage of the season.
The win left Real four points above Barcelona, with a game in hand. It was the perfect way for Ronaldo and company to recover from Thursday's cup elimination against neighbours Atletico.
Later Sunday, Barca were due to visit Deportivo Coruna, while third-placed Atletico were to host bottom team Granada.
