Raila fulfils Leopards pledge

20 November 2013, 20:14

Nairobi - Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga fulfilled his pledge to reward the winner of the GOtv Shield final by handing AFC Leopards a cash prize.

Odinga had promised the winner of the clash between Leopards and Gor Mahia over the weekend KES 1 million in prize money and he delivered on his pledge Wednesday at a Nairobi hotel.

He congratulated Leopards for their feat and asked them to continue investing in the club to ensure their quality improves.

" We need the quality of the game to improve and that will only happen if you continue investing in good coaching, talented players and top class facilities, he said.

Leopards chair Allan Kasavuli thanked Odinga for his support to the Kenyan game.

" As a club we salute you for your continued support to the game and promise that it will not go unnoticed, he said.

In total, Leopards were rewarded KES 2.6 million from well wishers.
