Nairobi - A day after ascending to the helm of the Kenyan Premier League, Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier has vowed to make the league a better one during his tenure.
Rachier is the new chairman replacing Tusker FC's James Musyoki by virtue of Gor's title win this season.
The league has come a long way in recent years but is still plagued by issues such as poor officiating, slow decision making organs and hooliganism.
Rachier says that he will give his best to the role and will not be biased, with some arguing that he will favour Gor as regards some of the ills they have committed in the past.
" I'm glad to ascend to the role and will give my very best to ensuring the league imporves as an entity, he said.
" There are issues that have to be sorted out to make the league a better place for all clubs and Kenyan football and I will not relent in ensuring that the rules of the game are followed to the letter, he added.
Rachier also insists that he will fight hooliganism and will not spare his own club if they are in the wrong.
