Nairobi - As the country's football premier league season comes to an end, hiring and firing of coaches is likely to follow suit.
Tusker Football Club coach Robert Matono, said he expected coaches who excelled to remain or move for greener pastures while those that failed dismally be expelled.
Matono is former winning coach with Tusker FC. He however glorified his role at the club saying he was likely to retain his position ahead of the forthcoming season.
"My boys failed to muster the skills to outfox other title contenders but I am optimistic the brewers' hierarchy will keep faith in me as I rebuild for next season's campaign," said Matano.
Matano said he would be fine with whatever decision the team's management would make but believed that he would be allowed to complete the two years remaining in his contract.
He blamed his players for having the wrong attitude and lacking of commitment, which he insists, had caused the team to lose the league title.
Tusker edged out Gor Mahia on the very last match that saw them lift the title last.
Gor Mahia remains the year's league contenders after displaying some remarkable performance in both the first and last leg.
Coach Matono changed almost the entire squad that worn last year's title a decision he says he does not regret taking.
He added that of the three titles the team had scooped one, which was not a bad performance after all .Earlier in the season the Matano brought on board some new faces that many believed would enable the team defend its title.
