Owino happy desoite GOtv loss

18 November 2013, 16:00

Nairobi - Gor Mahia defender David Owino is happy with the way the 2013 season panned out despite defeat to AFC Leopards in the GOtv Shield final.

Gor lost to bitter rivals AFC Leopards in the season ending finale on Sunday which saw them miss out on a potential double for the season.

They however did manage to win the Kenyan Premier League after an 18 year wait and according to Owino, the league win more than makes up for the disappointing finish to the season.

" Regardless of the loss in the Shield, our season has been great, he said.

" We managed to win the important thing, which is the KPL and we also won the Super Cup at the beggining of the season so it was not all bad, he added.

Owino will now look forward to the CECAFA senior Challenge Cup where he will no doubt feature as part of the Harambee Stars squad.
