Ouma hails Sofapaka defence

29 June 2015, 15:05

Nairobi - Sofapaka assistant coach David Ouma was full of praise for the side's defence after they clinched a 1-0 win over Western Stima on Saturday.

The Kenyan Premier League giants had Vitalis Akumu to thank for the three points after the Stima defender deflected Ezekiel Odera's delievery past his own goalkeeper and into the back of the net.

The result kept Batoto Ba Mungu second in the standings, but still some 12 points adrift of unbeaten leaders Gor Mahia, but Ouma was happy enough to focus on his side's own results.

"It was a tough match but I am glad we managed to get the maximum points. The game could have gone either way, but my players concentrated until the final whistle," Ouma told SuperSport.

"Stima came back into the second half more determined but I am pleased with how our defenders contained the pressure. We are just taking one game at a time."
