Opiyo move stalls

12 September 2013, 15:45

Nairobi - Peter Opiyo’s move to Oman, where he had been earmarked to sign up for Omani top flight side Al Shabab, has hit a snag as the player could not produce a release letter from AFC Leopards.

The player flew out on Monday for talks with the club but club officials declined to open negotiations until they have the release letter, and the player’s agent, Afif Hassan, who was instrumental in the deal, says the player will be back in Kenya on Friday.

“The club has refused to open talks unless Opiyo provides his release letter from Leopards and just like that the transfer has hit a snag. It will not be happening and it is very unfortunate for all the involved parties.
