One midweek fixture as KPL returns

23 June 2014, 14:31

Nairobi - The only Kenya Premier League (KPL) midweek encounter will pit two teams fighting different battles in the league.

The league announced high-flying Tusker FC, vying for the championship, will meet struggling Top Fry Nakuru, who are facing relegation from the elite league.

The two teams have so far played 14 league matches while most clubs have 15 games played to date.

In an effort to ensure fair play, KPL ensured that the two clubs will battle out on Wednesday in an encounter likely to produce fireworks.

Tusker FC are third on the league log standings with 27 points from 14 matches while Top Fry Nakuru lie 15th with seven points from the same number of games.

Tusker, who stands a good chance to win this year's league title trail log leaders Gor Mahia and second placed Chemelil Sugar with 30 and 28 points each from 15 matches they played.

Victory on Wednesday will push them to the top of the table.
