Odhiambo relishing Gor chance

23 January 2015, 18:30

Nairobi - Bernard Odhiambo is determined to make a success of his time at Gor Mahia, just like his older brother David Owino, who recently left for Zesco United.

The younger of the two was snapped up by the reigning Kenyan Premier League champions this month after leaving recently-relegated Top Fry AllStars.

However, he will not be able to play alongside his brother, who left to play in the Zambian Super League with champions Zesco, although he remains determined to become a standout player at the Nairobi giants.

"I know some fans would want to compare me with my brother, but I can tell them that David Owino is who he is and I am Bernard Odhiambo, I have my style of play and he has his," Odhiambo said.

"Of course I draw a lot of inspiration from him. He has worked hard to be where he is and I am very proud of him and I wish him well in his new club.

"It would have been my wish to play with him at Gor Mahia but that may not happen now that he has moved but I hope Gor Mahia will make me a better player so that I can make it to the Harambee Stars and play alongside him."
