Nairobi - Bandari goalkeeper Wilson Oburu is determined to show his worth and secure a place in the final CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup squad.
Oburu has been named in the Stars squad that has begun residential training at the Moi Sports Centre Kasarani by head coach Adel Amrouche.
Competition is rife though, with three other established goalkeepers all fighting for a place in the starting line-up including Gor Mahia's Jerim Onyango, Sofapaka's Duncan Ochieng and SoNy Sugar's Wycliffe Kasaya.
Oburu admits that it will be a tough ask for any of the four keepers to make the starting line-up but argues his case out.
" It will be tricky. The competition is tough in the side if you see the goalkeepers in the side. It is not straightforward at all, he said.
" There will be competition for places and I'm ready to fight to the end to ensure I get into the side. I have been here before and hope to be able to return to the side, he added.
At-least one of the four goalies will be dropped before the tourney begins on November 27, 2013.
