Obafemi Martins the highest paid African in the MLS

Abuja - Nigeria international and Seattle Sounders forward, Obafemi Martins who is the second highest paid in player in Sounders ranks 11th amongst the top earners in the MLS.

The Super Eagles striker, who is highly experienced, earns three million dollars ($3,000,00) basic take home per annum. This earnings ranks him as the highest paid African in the MLS ahead of EPL club, Chelsea FC legend, Didier Drogba who earns a little over two million dollar ($2,166,668).

Nigerian star who plays for Switzerland at international level, Innocent Emeghara rakes in $1.3 million per annum. Brazilian international and Orlando City FC midfielder, Kaka sits atop highest earners in the MLS with an annual pay of $7,167,500 per annum.
