Nairobi - Gor Mahia coach Frank Nuttall said he was delighted by his team's performance against Chemelil Sugar in a crucial Kenyan Premier League fixture in Nairobi on Saturday.
The 2-0 victory entrenched K'Ogalo's status as the forerunners to win the KPL title and any doubts that Nuttall might have had ahead of the fixture have now been completely erased.
"This was a comprehensive victory against a very determined side. We were on top from the onset and I thank God now that I have won my first match in charge of the team," said Nuttall, who only very recently took over the helm at the Kenyan champions.
"The players were fantastic today and it's a good feeling to win this match. We created a lot of chances in the first-half and scored the goal but we improved in the last half. We will approach each match as it comes and do our best to see we achieve our target of retaining the title," Nuttall said in a post match interview.
While Nuttall is confident about his club's prospects of conquering the Kenyan top-flight this season, he has also reminded the local football fraternity that there was still much work to be done, adding that his players needed to take things one step at a time.

"We will continue to take a match at a time because we still have several matches to play for and remember the league is very close to call. Every game is going to be a battle and it's good to be on top. The journey is still a long way to go and we will take each game as it comes," added Nuttall.
