Nuttal frustrated by collapse

28 October 2015, 14:04

Nairobi - Gor Mahia head coach Frank Nuttal was extremely disappointed his side was unable to hang onto a two-goal lead in their 2-2 draw with Tusker FC.

The sides met in the first leg of the Top8 semi-final at Afraha Stadium over the weekend and K'Ogalo looked to be cruising to a comfortable win after first-half goals from Ali Abondo and Meddie Kagere.

However, it all went wrong for Nuttal and his men in the second period as Jesse Were and Eugene Asike netted for Tusker to make sure there was still everything to play for in the return leg.

"It was frustrating to give away two goals but again, the conditions of the pitch wouldn't allow us," Nuttal told Soka.

Despite his frustration with the result, he was not too displeased considering he was forced to field multiple players out of position.

"We also had to field a few players in different positions due to unavailability of some, Wafula dropping into the left back position because we had no other option," he explained.

"But two away goals is an advantage to us and we shall have to make sure we perform well in the return leg so that we can qualify," he concluded.
