No alcohol at KPL matches, FKF

17 October 2014, 17:18

Nairobi - There will be no alcohol sale or consumption at Kenyan Premier League matches, the Football Kenya Federation has said.

The Federation announced Friday that it had banned alcohol from games, saying that it was simply rubber-stamping a resolution made earlier on.

" Both the FKF and KPL previously made a policy decision in the Joint Executive Community that, for security reasons, alcoholic beverages cannot be taken into or consumed in our stadia during football matches."

" FKF strongly supports that policy which remains in force and must be respected for all matches organized or authorized by FKF," the statement said.

The decision is meant to reduce levels of hooliganism in matches.
