Ngige wins second KCB Tour title

18 August 2014, 21:03

Nairobi - Simon Ngige carded a six-under 134 to win the third leg of the KCB Golf Tour at Kisumu Golf Club on Sunday.

Ngige scored three-under 67’s in both rounds in Kisumu to earn Sh117 000 and take his second title on this season’s Tour.

The Thika Sports Club player, a two time KCB Tour Order of Merit winner, told the Star he was happy with the performance.

“I only missed one fairway, and three putted the 11th, otherwise my game was generally fine,” he said.

“I am hitting the ball fairly well at the moment.’’

Ngige carded six birdies in the final round - on the fourth, fifth, ninth, 12th, 14th and 15th holes – but hit a double-bogey at the 11th hole and a bogey on the 16th.

Dismas Indiza from Mumias Golf Club finished just two shots behind Ngige. Indiza finished the final round on 69 after he bogeyed the 13th hole and double-bogeyed the 16th.

David Wakhu was third after birdies on the fifth, sixth, eighth, 11th and 15th holes and bogeys at the second, third, fourth and 10th holes saw him finish the second round on 69.
