Nandwa hopes to be second time lucky

11 December 2013, 11:56

Nairobi - Nandwa led the Stars to the final in Uganda 12 months ago but they lost to the hosts the Cranes, conceding a last minute goal.

Nandwa promised to try get the side back to the same position and he has seen it come true.

This time the Stars will take on Sudan, who have been excellent so far and boast a good record in competitive games versus Kenya.

The circumstances though will be different, with Kenya at home and the support that comes with playing at their backyard and Nandwa says they have to take advantage just like the Ugandans did last year.

" We have to take advantage of the position we are in at the moment. We will play at home and we will have the home-ground and fans advantage on our side.

" Also, we will be celebrating our 50th year of independence and that should be motivation enough for us to do well. The onus is on us, he said.

The match will be played Thursday at the Nyayo Stadium.
