Mwinyi disappointed with draw

25 July 2014, 20:22

Nairobi - Chemelil Sugar forward Hamisi Mwinyi has spoken of his disappointment following his side's 1-1 draw with Sofapaka on Wednesday.

The Sugar Millers were on their way to a crucial win on the road, but they conceded a late goal and were forced to share the points with their hosts.

Mwinyi was left bitterly disappointed with the result, as it saw them lose ground on current leaders Gor Mahia in the Kenyan Premier League championship race.

"It was a sad way to drop points and we are all very disappointed," the Chemelil striker said. "We played very well and deserved to get more than we did from the game and we were unlucky not to win it.

"It is just eight points (to make up) and we are confident we are not out of it (the race) at the moment. There are still 12 games left to play, so we are in it. I am confident.

"The goal we conceded was sloppy and we are mad at ourselves because those are two points dropped. We will learn from it though and be stronger in the future. Such results build us more and more and we will be better," he concluded.
