Mururi hails comeback win

18 August 2014, 11:40

Nairobi - Chemelil Sugar head coach Mike Mururi has lauded his side after coming from a goal down to beat Mathare United in Saturday's KPL encounter.

Dennis Onkangi scored the winner for the Millers at the Ruaraka Stadium, when he headed home for his debut goal since completing the switch from Western Stima during the mid-season break.

Noah Abich scored the opening goal for the Slum Boys from the penalty spot, but Charles Okumu converted a spot-kick moments later to level matters.

The Chemelil mentor was full of praise for his charges for their resilience to win the clash, which sees them cement their place among the league's top four.

"We knew Mathare are a very good side so we got our preparations spot-on," Mururi said in his post-match conference.

"They took the lead but my players fought back which was a good show from them.

"Our focus now shifts to the next match against Western Stima with our target being bagging three crucial points."
