Morocco supports Kenya's AFCON bid

Nairobi - Morocco the 2015 AFCON hosts
have thrown their weight behind Kenya’s bid to host the 2017 finals.
The Kingdom of Moroccan
Ambassador and Permanent representative to UNEP in Kenya H.E. Abdelilah
Benryane said this when he hosted the National team Harambee Stars and
FKF officials to a dinner at his residence in Gigiri.
The ambassador himself, a
former player with giants Raja Casablanca, confirmed that his country is already set to
host one of the best continental finals.
" Our Stadiums and training
grounds are all ready and the Harambee stars will one of the venues the Grand
Stade in Marakech.
" We support the Kenyan bid for
2017 as we believe that an Eastern Africa Country should get the nod from CAF. Currently our national team
is playing a series of friendly’s as part of their preparations since
they are not taking part in the ongoing qualifiers".

" Personally I'm disappointed that
Kenya will not be in the finals next year but my advice to FKF is that even
morocco were once a powerhouse in football and appeared in two world cup finals,
However we have gone through a lean period and now we are building. Our national team will make a
reciprocal visit to Kenya early next year," he added.
FKF Vice president Robert
Asembo confirmed to the Morocco ambassador that Kenya has submitted a serious
bid and thanked him for his support .
Stars depart tonight for
