Monday shocked by stunning defeat

29 September 2014, 15:16

Nairobi - Tusker midfielder Osborne Monday was left dumbfounded after his side were eliminated from the Shield Cup on Sunday by AFC Leopards.

The Brewers at one stage led the quarter-final clash by two goals, but ended up losing the match 3-2 as Leopards rallied back in dramatic fashion.

Monday, who was named man of the match, immediately admitted to being shocked by the outcome of the encounter.

"We were very unlucky today. I still cannot understand what happened," he said after the match.

"We will review this performance and pick ourselves up for the next engagement."

Tusker still have the league glory to aim for, where they are currently involved in a tight battle with Sofapaka and defending champions Gor Mahia.
