Mieno close to AFC Leopards deal

13 June 2014, 11:46

Nairobi - Humphrey Mieno is close to joining AFC Leopards after having his deal at Sofapaka cancelled.

The midfielder has left Sofapaka after being frustrated by the lack of money at the club and is being looked at by Gor Mahia and Leopards.

Leopards though are understood to have put a strong offer on the table for the talented player and expect him to put pen to paper imminently.

" Mieno is close by. The deal has more or less been agreed and apart from some small details, he should sign soon, a source at the club said.

On his part, Mieno admitted to negotiating with Leopards.

" I have indeed spoken to them but there is no agreement as yet on a deal. We are still talking, he said.

Sofapaka are in deep financial trouble and have not paid their players and staff since March.
