Matano praises young Birgen

Nairobi - Ulinzi Stars head coach Robert Matano has hailed the impact young
defender Brian Birgen made in his side's win over AFC Leopards on

Matano expressed delight that his brave decision to give the youngster a run ahead of Mulinge Ndetto, who dropped to the bench.
"The youth are the future of the team and football as a whole and I
will not be afraid to give them a chance so long as they prove
themselves in training," he told the club's website.
"Birgen is a very good player, I first watched him play for Warriors and I knew he will make a good addition to the team.
"He played very well and I am proud of his performance," the coach concluded.
Birgen was one of three players promoted from club's youth side
Ulunzi Warriors, together with another defender Rodgers Omondi and
striker Aggrey Mejja.
