Makwata eyes Harambee Stars call-up

Nairobi - Ulinzi Stars midfielder John Makwata is targeting a call up to the Kenya
national team after scooping the Player of the Month award for April.
The playmaker netted five goals in four matches last month to help
Stars climb to fourth in the Kenyan Premier League standings after three
wins and a draw, while also earning him the monthly honour, which comes
with a cash prize of KES 50,000.
And, the 21-year-old is now hoping his form attracts the attention of
Harambee Stars coach Bobby Williamson as the continent already starts
looking towards the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, where Kenya begin their
qualifying campaign away to Congo in June.
"I'm happy because it's every player's dream to win an award. This
will open up more opportunities for me and hopefully one day, play for
national team," he told Capital FM.
"This award will encourage me to work harder and at the moment, what
is important for me is not what I achieve personally or the number of
goals I want to score at the end of the season.
"It is what the team achieves and where we will be at the end of the
season. I want to work hard to help the team win the title."
