Nairobi - AFC Leopards defender Anthony Modo Kimani underwent surgery on a busted knee and is expected to miss the start of the season.
Kimani underwent a successful knee
surgery at the Nairobi Hospital Saturday and is recuperating well.
It is understood that he might take up to
eight weeks to heal and start training again.
Kimani is relieved that the operation
went on well and is looking forward to resuming club duty.
" I hear from the doctors that the surgery went well and that I will be back in full action in two or three months time. Hopefully the recovery will go well, he said.
Kimani will be missed by Leopards though head coach James Nandwa says he is happy with the fact that there is cover in the side.
" We have cover for such times and that is the great thing about our set-up, he said.
Leopards have a tough opening to the season, with the DSTV Cup, KP Charity Cup, CAF Confederation Cup and Kenyan Premier League all in line in the next couple of weeks.
