Nairobi - Embattled AFC Leopards are considering to permanently hire Briton Trevor Morgan as their permanent coach ahead of the weekend's match against Thika United.
AFC Leopards are presently on 10th position of the Kenya Premier League (KPL) log standing with 14 points from 11 outings, much to the concern of sponsors.
Morgan was seen on bench in a Kenya Top 8 semi final tie against KCB at Nyayo Stadium, but the club owners were yet to finalise on his appointment, which they now to make it official.
CAJ News Kenya Bureau took a close look on how AFC Leopards fared this year in the early stages of the Premiership.
The negative development has forced club sponsors to look for a new coach.
On March 16, AFC Leopards were held to a goalless draw by Sofapaka in a league match played at Machakos Stadium before redeeming themselves by narrowly winning 1 - 0 against Sony Sugar at Nyayo Stadium in a midweek match on March 19.
As that was not enough, on March 22, AFC Leopards also settled to a goalless draw against Chemelil Sugar at Nyayo Stadium.
A week later, the team hosted Top Fry Nakuru at Mumias Stadium in which they won 1-0, but that victory was short-lived when they lost 0-1 to Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) in a match played on April 9 at Kasarani Stadium.
The inconsistencies of AFC Leopards continued on April 12 when they were held to a 1 -1 draw by City Stars at Mumias Stadium.
Trouble and lean spell continued to haunt AFC Leopards on April 23 when they were narrowly beaten 0-1 by Mathare United at Nyayo Stadium.
However, AFC Leopards redeemed themselves over the weekend when narrowly beat 5th positioned Tusker Football Club 1-0 in a thrilling encounter at Machakos Stadium.
The match against Thika United on Sunday would help shape the future of where AFC Leopards is heading.
