Leopards eye Kiongera deal

12 November 2013, 11:12

Nairobi - AFC Leopards are keen on landing Gor Mahia forward Paul Mungai Kiongera.

Kiongera has been at Gor on loan from KCB in the 2013 season but struggled to make an impression at the club thanks to competition and injuries.

His loan deal at Gor expired on November 2, 2013 and according to sources that did not want to be named, Leopards have already spoken to the player about a potential move.

“Kiongera is a good player and any club would want him on board, so it is something Leopards have been thinking about, he said.

KCB on the other hand are keen to have the player at the club so they can launch a title challenge in 2014 but they are also open to him leaving if he wishes to.

The bankers will have a joint meeting between management and the technical bench to decide on Kiongera future later Tuesday, where they will also run the rule over a number of players who they are either keen to drop or retain for the coming season.
