Leopards duo out of Thika game

01 July 2013, 10:15

Nairobi - Kenyan Premier League (KPL) bigwigs AFC Leopards will have to wait a little longer before they can do with the services of the newly signed duo of midfielder Sadiq Abdikaadir and forward Michael Khamati.

Leopards take on Thika United on Monday in a KPL clash at the Nyayo National Stadium and confirming the two players’ absence, head coach Luc Eymael said the duo’s paperwork was not completed in time for them to get the clearance.

As for Abdikaadir, whose played for Somalia’s Elman FC, the club had not yet acquired his international transfer certificate while Khamati’s situation was slowed by the fact that a release letter from his team (Division One side Administration Police FC) had not been issued by close of business on Friday with a key reason being his association with the Kenya Police, where he is a serving officer.
