Leopards did not 'trust' Tiema

14 January 2014, 13:51

Nairobi - Barnabas Tiema is happy with his move to Sofapaka and believes he was not trusted at AFC Leopards.

The goalkeeper has joined 2009 KPL champions Sofapaka where he will aim to displace a number of top guns in Duncan Ochieng and David Okello.

He faced similar opposition at Leopards but he believes that this time he will fare much better since he already feels at home at the club.

" I love it here because they have showed faith in me as a player, he said.

" At AFC Leopards not many people showed faith in my ability and that matters a lot when it comes to football. I feel so much loved here already, he added.

As for whether he minds the competition at the club, Tiema says he is willing to work his way up.

" Competition is always there at big clubs and I expect that to happen here at Sofapaka. I will fight for my place, he added.

Tiema was third choice at Leopards last season, behind Patrick Matasi and Martin Musalia.
