Leopards arrive in Zanzibar for Mapinduzi tournament

Nairobi - AFC Leopards are in Zanzibar ahead of their opening clash of the annual Mapinduzi football tournament.
The 2013 GOtv Shield champions have taken a number of new signings on the trip to neighbouring Zanzibar with the hope of blooding them ahead of the 2014 season.
Head coach James Nandwa has already laid out his plans for the two week tourney.
" We want to win it. That is why we are in Zanzibar, he said.
" There are some great teams here that we will face and we hope to do well. On the other hand, we have a number of new faces that need playtime and so we will give them a chance, he added.
Nandwa has included four of his five
new signings in the 20 man squad. The four, Jacob Keli, Wycliffe Kasaya, Joseph Imbenzi
Shikokoti and Musa Mudde are expected to get starting positions during
the opener against Tanzania’s Simba FC on Wednesday January 1, 2014.
Nandwa has also included in the squad the trio that had
been loaned out during the second leg of 2013 season namely Bernard
Mangoli, Bernard Ongoma and Michael Wandera.
