Leopards appeal Barasa red card

26 February 2013, 16:09

Nairobi - Kenyan Premier League [KPL] giants AFC Leopards have officially lodged an appeal with KPL over Mike Barasa’s red-card in their 1-1 draw against Chemelil Sugar last weekend.

The veteran striker was shown a second-booking in controversial circumstances in the 60th minute by centre referee James Kagera for protesting to assistant referee Carolyne Kiles over a wrong off-side call on a back pass.

The match was halted for close to 20 minutes as the fans threw all sorts of missiles onto the pitch. It took the intervention of the security personal and appeal from Ingwe players to restore order.
