Nairobi - The Kenya Premier League (KPL) has postponed this week's Premiership matches to make way for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Apart from the country's qualification match against the Comoros, other Premiership clubs who do not have players called up to the national team will participate in the 2014 GOtv Shield tournament thereby making it impossible for the KPL to line-up midweek and weekend matches.
On Friday, Kenya will play the continent's lightweight, but stubborn Comoros on Friday at Moroni, according to the announcement by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
Kenya departs for Comoros on Wednesday.
The Harambee Stars carry a slender 1-0 lead over Comoros from the first round first leg played at Nyayo Stadium two weeks ago.
KPL has confirmed that the Premiership matches would resume next week on Friday with the only match of the day pitting Western Stima against Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA).
The KPL has also lined up matches for both Saturday and Sunday next week with Thika United hosting City Stars while Ulinzi Stars entertain on-form Sony Sugar.
The following day, a top of the table clash will be on cards for Tusker against Mathare United while defending champions Gor Mahia host AFC Leopards in another encounter that promises a thriller.
Two more matches will wrap up the weekend with clashes between Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) hosting Sofapaka with bottom of the table pitting Muhoroni Youth clashing with Top Fry Nakuru.
Bandari will play against high riding Chemelil Sugar on Monday.
