Nairobi - Former Gor Mahia striker Edwin Lavatsa has been shown the door at Algerian club MC Alger.
The striker has had a torrid time at the club since making the move there in the January transfer window, coming in for criticism on a number of occasions for his turgid displays.
He has now been dropped together with 14 other players as confirmed by the club.
" MC Alger has discarded half of its workforce in order to strengthen its ranks by releasing the following players; Fabre, Besseghir, Belaid, Djeghebala Daoud, Ghazi, Ouali, Yachiri, Djallit, Bougueche, Lavatsa and Dibi, read a statement from the club.
Lavatsa is in the country and is said to be working on a move outside the country having missed out on the Kenyan Premier League June transfer window.
