Kroos: Real cut above

Madrid - New Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos admits that the
Spanish giants are 'a cut above' his former club Bayern Munich.
The Germany international, who was a central figure in Die
Mannschaft's World Cup triumph in Brazil, was unveiled at the Santiago Bernabeu
on Thursday after completing a £25 million move.
"Real Madrid are the biggest club in the world,"
he said in a press conference. "They are a cut above Bayern.
"I'm far from sated when it comes to winning things. My
biggest aim of all is to win trophies with Real Madrid."
There had been reports that Kroos left the Allianz Arena due
to a rift with manager Pep Guardiola, but the 24-year-old denied this and
wished his former club, and coach, all the best.
"Pep is an amazing person, a very special coach and
stands out among all the great coaches I worked under," Kroos added.
"He has brought me on a great deal and I am very, very
grateful for the faith he and director of sport Matthias Sammer, whom I had
already got to know during my time as a Germany youth international, have shown
"Dear Pep Guardiola, dear Matthias Sammer, dear friends
and the Bayern Munich team: I wish you much success in the years to come!"
