Khedira to snub EPL interest?

11 May 2015, 15:53

Cape Town - Bundesliga side Schalke have confirmed their interest in Real Madrid contract rebel Sami Khedira.

According to goal.com, Schalke general manager Horst Heldt says the club are interested in signing Khedira on a free transfer.

"I would prefer us to conduct our business in private," said Heldt.

"But it is true that we want Khedira for the coming season. However, we are not the only club who wants him."

Schalke will most likely be competing with Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich, and English Premiership trio - Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United - for the Germany international's signature.

Khedira's contract status has seen him lose his spot in midfield this season, with Toni Kroos preferred to partner Luka Modric.

Khedira, who impressed with Germany at the 2010 Soccer World Cup and won it four years later in Brazil, signed for Real Madrid from Stuttgart in 2010.
