Nairobi - Kenya has remained stuck on 134 position globally while occupying 34 in Africa due to the team's inactivity.
According to the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA) world rankings released on Thursday, Harambee Stars, did not slide neither move up the global football ladder.
The team’s inactivity since loosing their world cup qualifier bid might have contributed to the stagnation.
Kenya was edged out of group F in the World Cup qualifier matches leaving Nigeria to battle it out Ethiopia for the world cup slot.
The Kenya Football Federal (FKF) has also shown laxity in organizing international friendly matches for the team since the world cup qualifier matches.
Kenya’s Historical rivals Uganda Cranes emerged the highest ranked team in East Africa even though they dropped globally from position 81 to 85.
It is expected that this ranking might prompt the government and stakeholders to put in place strategies that will see the team restore its former glory.
Failure to qualify for the world cup had a devastating effect to both the players and the funs and a quick fix plan might restore the situation.
The team has several of its players playing in competitive leagues with Victor Wanyama Mugubi being the most notable one in Southampton on the English Premier League.
