Kenya confirms Senegal clash
02 January 2012, 09:01
The Kenya Football Federation (KFF) has confirmed its team
will play a friendly match against Senegal on January 14 at the Stade
Léopold Sédar Senghor in Dakar, where the Teranga Lions will be fine
tuning for the 2012 African Cup of Nations debuting on January 21.
The Senegal FA sports director Amstaou Fall told a press conference on
Friday in Dakar that opting for Kenya was strategic because the Harambee
Stars have a similar play pattern with Zambia, whom Senegal will begin
their campaign against on the Afcon opening day.
Tunisia pulled out of an earlier arrangement following a rift between
Senegal sports ministry and the football federal, which was healed by
the extension of coach Amara Traore’s contract for three more years.
