Nairobi - Kenya has reportedly joined forces with the Tanzania Football Federation in a bid to win hosting rights for AFCON 2017.
The Tanzanians had already put forward their own offer to stage the
continental event, but feel they may have a better chance of landing the
gig if they pair up with their East African neighbours.

The Tanzania Daily News
quote a source close to the TFF as saying: "As Tanzania we have already
submitted our bid to CAF and they have confirmed receiving it, and the
joint bid with Kenya consolidates our chances of being granted the right
to host the 2017 AFCON."
The 2017 event remains up for grabs
following Libya's withdrawal as host nation, while CAF also recently
awarded Cameroon the right to host AFCON 2019 and Ivory Coast and Guinea
were selected for the 2021 and 2023 editions respectively. For the latest on national news, politics, sport, entertainment and more follow us on Twitter and like our Facebook page!
