Nairobi - The second edition of the Kenya Power Charity Cup will be held in February 2014.
The cup which pits four teams against each other according to the number of votes placed in by fans was a relative success in 2013, raising KES 5.2 Million.
The money raised was used to renovate football facilities in Nairobi.
In 2013, Sofapaka, Gor Mahia, Western Stima and Mathare United participated in the tournament with Sofapaka coming out winners.
According to Kenya Power CEO Ben Chumo, the growth of the tournament is important to the country and the game of football.
" I call upon club followers and any interested parties to contribute towards this noble idea by voting for their teams as we target a figure more than first edition's 5.2 million which will be used in an elaborate way, he said,
"The contributions again will be geared towards refurbishing our facilities for the youth to enjoy themselves,
-The winner of the tourney will carry home Ksh1 million, KSh600 000 for the second runners up and KSh300 000 for the third runners up, respectively. The voting number is 30300 and I urge fans to vote for their teams by sending names of the respective clubs to the number,
The second edition of the KPL Charity Cup will be held at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday 2nd February 2014.
