Kasavuli admits AFC Leopards cash shortfall

29 January 2014, 15:01

Nairobi - AFC Leopards chairman Allan Kasavuli has admitted that the club is struggling to find the finances to see them participate in continental competition.

Leopards are due to take part in the CAF Confederations Cup where they will play Defence of Ethiopia in the preliminary rounds.

According to Kasavuli, the club is depending on external sources and well wishers to see them participate in the two legged tie of the competition.

" We have tried our best but the reality is that we need external help.

" The budget is close t0 KES 20 million and we are nowhere near making it there as we speak, which is worrying for us, he added.

" We are confident and at the same time hopeful that we can get the funding, he added.

He however noted that the lack of cash will not affect the club's day to day business.

" We have money to take care of the players and staff. That is not an issue for us at the moment and with the sponsorship deals we have, we are comfortable. There should be no worry.
