Nairobi - Thika United head coach John Kamau has lamented the loss of Clifton Miheso to Sofapaka and says that it is a big blow to the club.
The winger decided against a stay at the Thika outfit for a lucurative move to Sofapaka where he feels he can compete for major honours far more easily.
Kamau says he admits that he was shocked at Miheso's move and believes it is a positive and at the same time a blow to Thika's famed youth policy.
" It is sad to have such an important player like Miheso leave the club and especially for a direct rival, he said.
" It has been something we have tried to fight but it has not bore any fruit. He had already made up his mind and we had to play by his way.
" It is hard for us because we have lost a player who is good at what he does and has stayed at the club since he was a young boy and we have groomed him.
" Now he has left for another club. It shows that our academy is doing well but we do not want to be losing players like him to clubs in the KPL, he added.
Kamau though says Thika will find an internal replacement for Miheso.
" We will find someone from within the club. You can trust us to produce another very good talent.
