Kahata captains Harambee Stars in Ethiopia clash

Nairobi - Francis Kahata will captain national team Harambee Stars as they chase a good start against Ethiopia in the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup.

The Thika United forward will lead the side out as they take on Ethiopia in their opener Wednesday at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

David Gateri has also earned a starting berth with Gor Mahia's David Owino and Azam's Jockins Atudo partnering in central defence.

Allan Wanga will lead the goal hunt as Edwin Lavatsa provides more attacking options.

In a surprise move, KCB striker, KPL top scorer and player of the year Jacob Keli has been left on the bench.

Starters: Duncan Ochieng (GK), David Owino, Jockins Atudo, Musa Mohamed, Aboud Omar, Anthony Akumu, Peter Opiyo, Francis Kahata (c), David Gateri, Edwin Lavatsa, Allan Wanga.

Subs: Jerim Onyango (GK), Jacob Keli, James Situma,James Mulinge, David Kingatua, Cliff Miheso, Paul Kiongera.
