Nairobi - AFC Leopards and Kenyan football legend Joe Kadenge is hoping that the weekend GOtv Shield Final clash between arch-rivals Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards will be a peaceful affair.
The two biggest clubs in Kenyan football history face off at the Nyayo National Stadium where bragging rights will be on offer as well as the honour of winning the last trophy of the season.
The two have a heated history when it comes to their meetings and Kadenge knows it too well having been a part of the occasion in days gone by.
Kadenge hopes that this edition of the derby will be rememberd more for the football than sideshows.
" I hope that there will be peace over the weekend when the two sides face each other, he said. They are the best sides in Kenyan football and I hope that they will be remembered for just that.
" The violence must cease and I hope that this year the two can show the world that they are not just about violence.
Security has been tightened ahead of the match with organisers the Football Kenya Federation promising robust security arrangements ahead of the match.
