KRA, Top Fry join Kenyan Premier League elite

23 December 2013, 11:02

Nairobi - Kenya Revenue Authority FC KRA and Top Fry AllStars will take part in the 2014 Kenyan Premier League after earning promotion during the weekend playoffs.

The two won their respective matches Saturday to earn promotion to the Premier League.

Top Fry beat Oserian 1-0 to book their place in the Premier League at the City Stadium. Wilson Andati scored the only goal of the game to hand them promotion.

Club chair Robert Muthomi was over the moon.

" It represents a great growth chart for us and we are happy that after starting out again just three years ago, we are now in the Premier League, he said.

KRA on the other hand saw off the highly fancied Posta Rangers to book their ticket. Theirs was a tight encounter that culminated in penalties which KRA won 5-4.

" Thank God that after all theses years we are in the KPL. We have tried severally but we are finally there. What a weekend for the club, KRA head coach Ken Kenyatta said.

The two replace the relegated Kakamega Homeboyz and Karuturi Sport in the 16 team roster.
