KPL upholds Gor vs Ulinzi result

18 April 2013, 09:09

Nairobi - Kenyan Premier League has upheld Gor Mahia’s win over Ulinzi Stars in the Top 8 after the latter had written a protest letter asking the football body to nullify the result.

In reply to the protest letter, KPL’s CEO Jack Oguda stated that Ulinzi made an illegality when they protested during the match contravening rule 3.5 match arrangement which dictates that any protest must be made during the pre-match and attached the match commissar’s match report.

The letter read in part "We acknowledge receipt of your letter dated April 11,2013 .We note that from the match commissioners and referees report that your protest was made during the match which contravenes rules 3.5 on match arrangements (i) pre-match protests:any protests by a club must be made and attached to the match report before kickoff and it must be signed by the team manager or coach of both clubs."
